In a stride towards community betterment, Port Renfrew Management unveils the launch of pivotal infrastructure upgrades for Deering Road and Parkinson Road. This initiative, reflecting an investment of approximately $150,000, is set to significantly boost safety and accessibility, particularly enhancing the walking routes for school children.
Project Insights:
- Start of a Safer Journey: Initiated in 2016 alongside the Beachview Rise subdivision planning, this project marks a collaborative endeavor with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in BC.
- Community-Centric Design: Incorporating community feedback, the design focuses on safety and accessibility, especially for Port Renfrew School students.
Enhancements Overview:
- Comprehensive Upgrades: Including new paving, crosswalks, updated signage, a central traffic island, and specific improvements to Deering Road.
- Safer School Routes: Prioritizing pedestrian traffic safety near Port Renfrew School with improved sightlines and access.
- Local Collaboration: Executed by Rising Tide Construction, Big Fish Endeavors, and local operators, emphasizing community employment and economic growth.
